Spa Etiquette

A trip to a spa should be a relaxing, rejuvenating experience. Please use these suggestions as a rough guideline to get the most out of your spa experience.

Advance booking Book as far in advance as possible. It will be easier to accommodate a request of a certain time and a certain technician when booking early.

Punctuality Ideally arrive 15 minutes early so you can get familiar with the spa. We realize there will be times when a patron will be late for an appointment. In such instances, the allotted time for the service will be shortened with no fee adjustment.

Children A spa is a great place to get a little alone time, so it is best not to bring children.

Eating and Drinking Try not to eat for a least an hour prior your treatment. Drink plenty of water before and afterward.

Perfumes Because the emphasis should be on relaxation and because others may be allergic, it’s best not to wear perfume to the spa.

Cell phones Leave phones and pagers at home or in your bag and turn them off when entering the spa.

Nudity If modesty is an issue, call the spa in advance to discuss its policies and suggestions. Some treatments are done while you’re fully clothed.

Shaving If you must shave, do so at least two hours before your scheduled appointment, especially before a facial.

Gratuities Ask if gratuities are include, If not, about 15 percent is customary or depending on the quality of the service. Leave the tip at the reception area rather than giving it directly to the technician. If you have a combine services please leave a separate tip for each of them.

Cancellation Unexpected things do happen, and sometimes it’s impossible to keep an appointment. If you must cancel, give the spa as much advance notice as possible. 24 Hours is the norm.

Communicating your preferences Be sure to speak up. All aspect of treatments can be modified to your taste; amount of light, king of music, room temperature, and whether or not you choose to have a conversation or enjoy the treatment in silence. Feel free to ask questions. If any part of your experience is unsatisfactory, first tell the technician than a manager or owner.
