You asked: What kind of training do our Laser Technicians receive?

At Merle Norman and Day Spa we require an experienced aesthetician to pursue in-depth training of Laser Hair Removal under medical supervision. It is the study of Hair Anatomy within the different layers of the skin and Fitzpatrick Skin Classification and Ethnicity (Caucasian, Asian, East Indian, Black etc.) ,the study of Elos Technology, a combination of two Energy; Light and Electricity and a cooling system. The aestheticians have in clinic practice on real people for many hours before certification at the Humaen Institute, Montreal, Quebec and ongoing in studio training as well. Both certified technicians have been with Merle Norman over three years.

How Safe and Different are we? How does Laser Hair Removal work?

Elos technology is a faster, gentler way to remove unwanted hair, with long term results. It applies precisely controlled pulses of energy (radio frequency and light from the laser spectrum with cooling) reaching into the hair follicles that lie beneath the skin. The energy heats the hair and follicle only right down to the bottom of the root, destroying it without damaging surrounding tissue or skin.

It is suitable for everyone because this technology allows us to customize the treatment to exactly match your skin type and hair color. Finally, all skin types can be treated safely, and all hair colors can be treated effectively except deeply tanned skin are asked to wait a few weeks. We can treat clients without surgery, no sedation and no downtime.

Each client is requested to have a consultation and fill out a medical evaluation form detailing all potential side effects and outcomes of the treatment. The written consent form must be signed before any testing or treatment begins.
