Down-turned eyes

Objective: to give a ‘lift’ to outer corners
Down-turned eyes

  • ‘Open’ entire eye by giving brows a clean arch.
  • Curl lashes for additional ‘uplift.
  • Apply a light (L) shade of eyeshadow from lashline to brow.
  • Use a medium (M) shade in and above crease, extending it outward and upward on lid.

Wide-set eyes

Objective: to help eyes appear closer together
Wide-set eyes

  • Apply a light (L) shade of eyeshadow from lashline to brow.
  • Apply a medium (M) shade at lashline to crease.
  • Apply a slightly darker (D) shade in crease from inner corner to outer edge of iris.
  • Use eyeliner on entire upper lashline.
  • Concentrate mascara on inner lashes.
  • Fill in brows near bridge of nose.

Close-set eyes

Objective: to help eyes appear more wide-set
Close-set eyes

  • Widen space between brows by tweezing and extend outer end by coloring in with pencil or powder.
  • Use a light (L) shade of eyeshadow from lashline to brow, concentrating color at inner corner.
  • Darken outer half of lid and crease with a medium (M) to dark (D) shade. Apply the shade in above crease, concentrating color on outer half.
  • Use dark eyeliner from outside of iris to corner on upper and lower lashline.
  • Concentrate mascara on outer lashes.

Prominent eyes

Objective: to minimize roundness and protruding appearance
Prominent eyes

  • Be sure brows are properly arched rather than rounded.
  • Apply a light (L) to medium (M) shade of eyeshadow from lashline to brow.
  • Darken crease with a medium (M) shade, extending it slightly beyond the outer corner.
  • Apply a dark (D) shade on lid and to upper and lower lashline, widening and lengthening the line at outer corner.
  • Apply a light coat of mascara.

Deep-set eyes

Objective: to ‘open up’ receding eyes with prominent browbones
Deep-set eyes

  • Apply a light (L) shade of eyeshadow from lashline to brow.
  • Use a medium (M) shade from corner to corner above crease; fade into browbone.
  • Use a dark (D) shade from iris to outer corner of lid.
  • Apply liner softly starting at the center of the upper and lower lashlines, extending to outer corner.
  • Coat upper and lower lashes with a generous application of mascara.

Almond Eyes

Objective: to enhance ideal shape and add dimension
Almond eyes

  • Apply a light (L) shade of eyeshadow from lashline to brow.
  • Use a medium (M) shade from inner corner, across lid and into crease.
  • Follow with a dark (D) shade from inside of iris, across top lashline to outer corner.
  • Smudge eyeliner at upper and lower lashlines all around the eye.
  • Coat upper and lower lashes with mascara.

Mature eyes

Objective: to ‘lift’ eyes with lids obscured by a fold of skin
Mature eyes

  • Apply a light (L), non-frosted eyeshadow shade from lashline to brow.
  • Use a medium (M) shade on lid.
  • Highlight (L) under browbone for contrast.
  • Apply a dark (D) shade across upper lashline.
  • Line upper and lower lashes with a thin line, going softer under the eye.
  • Apply mascara to curled lashes.
  • Color in brows, brush them upward and apply brow sealer.
